Summary of Air Pressure Difference Requirements Specifications for Air Conditioning (Clean) Areas

2025/6/25

Code for Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning in Civil Buildings (GB 50736-2012)
7.1.5 The air pressure in the air-conditioned area shall meet the following requirements:
For comfort air conditioning, when there is a pressure difference requirement between the air-conditioned area and the outside or between the air-conditioned areas, the pressure difference value should be set at 5 to 10Pa, and the maximum should not exceed 30Pa.
2. Process air conditioning should be determined in accordance with the environmental requirements of the air conditioning area. "Technical Code for Construction of Clean Operating Departments in Hospitals" (GB 50333-2002)
4.0.2 The selection of technical indicators for various clean rooms in the clean operating department shall comply with the following principles:
Between interconnected cleanrooms of different cleanliness levels, the cleanroom with a higher cleanliness level should maintain a relatively positive pressure for the one with a lower cleanliness level. The maximum static pressure difference should not exceed 30Pa, and no whistling should occur due to the pressure difference.
2. Between cleanrooms of the same cleanliness level that are interconnected, a pressure difference slightly greater than 0 should be maintained between the two rooms as required or in the direction of air flow from the inside to the outside.
3. To prevent the escape of harmful gases, the pre-anesthesia room or severely contaminated rooms should maintain negative pressure on adjacent rooms that are connected.
4. The clean area should maintain a positive pressure of no less than 10Pa towards the non-clean area connected to it.
5. The clean area should maintain a positive pressure of no less than 15Pa towards the outside or the areas directly connected to the outside. "Code for Design of Clean Rooms in Pharmaceutical Industry" (GB 50457-2008)
3.2.4 The static pressure difference between pharmaceutical cleanrooms (areas) of different air cleanliness grades and between pharmaceutical cleanrooms (areas) and non-cleanrooms (areas) should not be less than 5Pa, and the static pressure difference between pharmaceutical cleanrooms (areas) and the outdoor atmosphere should not be less than 10Pa. Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Ventilation and Air Conditioning Works (GB 50243-2002)
11.2.5 The static pressure between adjacent clean rooms of different grades and between clean rooms and non-clean rooms should not be less than 5Pa, and the static pressure difference between a clean room and the outside should not be less than 10Pa. "Code for Design of Clean Rooms" (GB 50073-2013)
6.2.1 A certain pressure difference must be maintained between the clean room (area) and the surrounding space, and it should be determined whether to maintain a positive or negative pressure difference according to the process requirements.
6.2.2 The pressure difference between cleanrooms of different grades should not be less than 5Pa, the pressure difference between the clean area and the non-clean area should not be less than 5Pa, and the pressure difference between the clean area and the outside should not be less than 10Pa.
